Kombucha Soap

8.00

After over a year, we've finally perfected our Kombucha making skills and now have a nice array of flavors - ginger/lemon, blackberry/sage, blueberry/basil and - my personal favorite: raspberry/mint. Ours SCOBYs are growing faster than we can keep up with so we thought: why not Kombucha Soap.

The result surpassed our wildest expectations and testers universally loved it. It is an extra mild soap suitable for the most sensitive of skins and comes in the following varieties:

Unscented - Plain Kombucha Soap made from just organic olive oil - vegetarian friendly

Lavender/Lemongrass - vegetarian friendly

Rose Geranium/Jasmine - vegetarian friendly

Lemongrass/Eucalyptus - contains animal fats

Since Kombucha is made with live-cultures that are also used in this soap, I'm not exactly sure if this makes our Kombucha Soap vegan or not but we're going to err on the side of caution and not claim it to be vegan. If you have any thoughts on it, I'd love to hear them.

Ingredients: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, kombucha, water, Sodium Hydroxide*, and various essential oils.

Every single one of our artisan soaps is handcrafted from scratch using our own recipes, made in small batches right here in the heart of Vermont's Green Mountains.

We use only natural, ethically sourced, skin-loving oils and butters, organic whenever possible. At North Country Soapworks, we support fellow local businesses and try to source locally as much as we can. We only use pure essential oils, natural plant-based colorants, herbs and cosmetic grade clays. We never use premade soap bases, detergents, preservatives, sulfates, synthetic ingredients, mineral oils, micas, dioxides or any other synthetic garbage.

Each handmade bar may vary slightly in shape and color and vary in appearance from what you see on this page.

PLEASE NOTE: Handmade soap will last a long time if allowed to dry between uses. To extend your soap's life, use a draining soap dish and keep it away from direct streams of water.

*Lye is used to turn oils into soap - this process is called saponification. All soaps are made with lye (if they're not made with lye, they're not "soap" but technically a "detergent"). No lye remains in the final end product.
